It shouldn't come as a surprise that Saskatoon gets cold in January. This year, in fact, has been warmer than most. Two years ago we had 22 days of temperatures below -30. So far this year we've had only 2 or 3 days of frigid cold. In a previous role, I hated this time of year. I used to manage a transportation company and when it gets this cold, things always break. Not only that, but the roads are treacherous. You can do all the right things and still end up stranded or vehicleless. I don't miss that.
